Free WRAP classes offered in Clay Co.

Free weekly WRAP classes are being offered every Tuesday from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. in Clay County at the Hayesville Office of Murphy Counseling (the old Smoky Mountain Center). Wellness Recovery Action Planning, i.e. WRAP, is a 10-week course that teaches you an approach for managing mental health and/or substance abuse symptoms that are interfering with your life. WRAP can provide you with HOPE that you can recover and reach for your goals! Certified facilitators are

employees of Meridian Behavioral Health Services and have reached a place in their own recovery to offer hope, education, and support to others. Classes are free and you can begin at any time. Come join us as we explore proven ways to regain our wellness. There is HOPE for a better life! Enchanted Valley Squares

The Enchanted Valley Squares hold their square dances at the Towns County Elementary School Cafeteria. Dances are from 7:30-10 p.m. The caller is Ray Mauney. All dancers are those interested are welcome.

Dances schedulef for the remainder of the year are: Dec. 8 (Toys for Tots Dance).

Christmas stories and poems at Moss Library Dec. 21

The Moss Memorial Library is hosting the annual Reading of Christmas Stories and Poems on December 21 at 7 p.m. Anyone in the community who has written a Christmas story or poem is invited to come and read your work at open mike. Whether you write for children, young adults, or adults, the North Carolina Writers' Network West wants you to come and be a part of this holiday gathering.

Friends of the Library will serve refreshments.

Three special guests for the evening are Estelle Rice, Nancy Gadsby, and Carol Thompson who will each read an original Christmas story. Mark December 21 on your calendar now. Free Diabetes classes offered at Library

Every Wednesday between 4 and 7 pm, diabetes instruction is available free of charge at the Moss Library in Hayesville. The emphasis will be on understanding what diabetes is and

how to do carbohydrate counting. Bring your logbooks, questions, and meters with you, Family members are also welcome. Diabetes Support Group to meet

The Diabetes Support Group will meet at 4 pm on November 29 at the Moss Library in Hayesville, NC.

There is no charge and everyone is welcome, including family members and those with pre-diabetes.

TCCC offers free GED classes in Hayesville

Tri-County Community College sponsors free GED classes at the Moss Library on Thursdays from 5 - 8 p.m. with instructor Lonna Tarnowski.

The class is part of TCCC's Adult Basic Skills program that teaches adults the skills necessary to earn a High School Equivalency Diploma.

Computers are used to provide supplemental instruction in reading, writing or grammar, and mathematics. They are also used to teach or improve typing skills and to take GED practice tests.

The GED exam is held monthly on the college's Main Campus.

Holiday Wreath Making at John C. Campbell Folk School

Learn to make decorative holiday wreaths on Thursday, November 30, at 7 p.m.

Wreaths created will be used to beautify the Folk School during the holiday season.
