I think that's really a lot what this (the success of "Housewives") is about."Sela Ward, however, has gone on the record as claiming to have turned down the role of Susan Mayer. Sela says: I just couldn't sign a sixyear contract. I had just finished 'Once and Again,' and my mother had died. It was a very difficult time."
