WNC writers continue to emerge
This compelling story is a dual timeline mystery set both in the present day and in 1837 as well. Cash brings to life the struggles of the Cherokee Chiefs attempting to convince the United States Congress not to force them off their lands. Ritual River intertwines mystery, romance and tragic local history of years past. The story includes telling of the hidden agenda of an old Cherokee curse that continues to haunt a family to the present day. Set primarily in Murphy, the Nantahala Gorge and Cherokee, this book is a fast paced, can't-put-it-down read. (And by the way, for fans of Sharyn McCrumb's ballad novels, Ritual River is sure to be an especially big hit.) At a recent writers' conference sponsored by North Carolina Writers Network West, the comment was made that one can hardly go grocery shopping in North Carolina without running into a writer. Indeed the Smoky and Appalachian mountains are the repository of many great stories that continue to emerge and are being written by our state's literary talented. Nancy Sales Cash is one such writer. The public is invited to come and meet the author and celebrate with her the mountains we all love. Nancy Sales Cash will be at the Phillips & Lloyd Book Shop in Hayesville on Saturday, December 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to meet you and sign your book. Phillips and Lloyd Book Shop is located on the Historic Courthouse Square in Hayesville.
