Kate Geneva Eller Long Clay County native, homemaker, Eastern Star member Kate Geneva Eller Long, age 83, of Hwy. 175, Hayesville, NC died Saturday, November 25, 2006 at her home. A native and lifelong resident of Clay County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Alford D. and Effie Jane Ledford Eller. Mrs. Long was a homemaker, attended the Shooting Creek Church of God and was a member of the Clay Chapter #11 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting and making crafts. She is survived by her husband, Arvil Long of the home; one son, Gene Long and his wife Peggy of Buford, Ga.; one sister, Norma Anderson of Hayesville, NC; one granddaughter, Gena Evon and her husband Thomas of Buford, Ga.; great-grandson, Christopher Evon of Buford, Ga., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, November 27, 2006 at the Townson Rose, Frank Rose Sr. Memorial Chapel in Hayesville, NC. The Rev. Eddie Brewer officiated. Interment was in the Philadelphia Church Cemetery in Hayesville, NC. Pallbearers were Ronnie Anderson, Cole Guffey, David Anderson, Larry Burch, Cassidy Stewart and Bill Cox. The family receive friends Monday, November 27, 2006 at the Townson Rose, Frank Rose Senior Memorial Chapel in Hayesville, NC.
