Robert Fesenmyer Clay County resident, U.S. Marine Corps veteran

Robert C. Fesenmyer, 81, of Hayesville died Saturday (November 18, 2006) in a Murphy medical center.

A native of Oil City, PA, he had been living in Clay County for the past 19 years. He was the son of the late Howard L. and Catherine Schmaderer Fesenmyer. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War serving in the United States Marine Corps. Robert retired in 1981 after 34 years with General Telephone Company as a service director. He was active in the Clay County community working with Meals on Wheels and the Clay County Food Pantry. He was an active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and was in the Knights of Columbus. Robert was also a member of the VFW and American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Zuilkoski Fesenmyer; two daughters, Catherine Voris of

Columbus, OH and Patricia Swanger of Hudson, WI; four sons, Michael Fesenmyer of Delaware, OH, Robert Fesenmyer of Holland, OH, William Fesenmyer of Lafayette, CO, and Marc Fesenmyer of Athens, OH; two sisters, Ruth Miller of Ocala, FLand Patricia Gregory of Marionville, PA; a brother, Howard Fesenmyer of Bradford, PA; and 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Robert C. Fesenmyer to the Clay County Food Pantry, 2278 Hinton Center Road, Hayesville, NC 28904
