Charles Webb Hager Jackson County native, building contractor

Charles Webb Hager, 62, beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather died Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at his home in Hayesville. He was a native of Jackson County and the son of the late Parker and Helen Hager of Mooresville and Guy and Dorothy Davis of Sylva.

Charles was a licensed building contractor. His work spanned from the Outer Banks to Mississippi and Western NC. His life was his family and church. He loved teaching Sunday school and bible studies, and he also enjoyed participating in Emmaus walks. He was a leader of the Sylva-Webster band boosters from 1982-1988 and a deacon at First Baptist Church of Sylva. He is best known and remembered for his love of family and community, his passion for Jesus and his generous heart. He loved storytelling and being in pursuit of the biggest trout!

Surviving are his wife, Terri Hager, his brother Jim Hager and wife Donna of Sylva; three children: Mary and her husband, Russell Vollmer of Bunn, NC, Margaret and her husband, Tom

Wheaton of

Greensboro and Tommy Hager and his wife Alison of Apex; six grandchildren:

Jacob,

John and Margaret

Vollmer, Will and

Foster Hager and

Matthew Wheaton.

The family received friends at First Baptist Church in Sylva on Saturday, December 9th., with the funeral service following. Reverend Daniel Stiles, Reverend Guinnell Hunter and Reverend Jacob Kyker officiated. The burial was held at Loves Chapel following the service.
