Hard landing for plane
Year in Review
 | | Pilot Larry Reynolds stands with his partially-submerged ultralight seaplane after it was towed to a dock in June near the Ridges. The craft came down on the lake hard, injuring Reynolds slightly and began taking on water. It was towed to the boat ramp, where Reynolds was interviewed by TVA police. He refused transport by Clay County EMS unit, prefering to remain with his airplane until it could be pulled from the water. Reynolds told TVA officers that he apparently forgot to retract his landing gear before coming down on the lake. TVA reports listed Reynolds as a Rabun County, Ga., resident.
