Junior Varsity takes a fall from Bulldogs, Towns County

      Hayesville High School wrestlers came out the victors Friday, Jan. 5, when they took part in a Tri-Meet against Murphy High and Towns County High. The Yellow Jackets traveled to Murphy, where they first met the Bulldogs on the mat and took team honors, 48 points to 30.

New Coastal recreational fishing license sales off to good start
      Within 24 hours of becoming available, more than 1,700 of the state's new Coastal Recreational Fishing License were purchased by anglers. The next day, another 1,800 such licenses were issued. It's a good start, officials with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission said this week.
