Late registration going on at TCCC until Jan. 16

Students can still register for Spring classes at Tri-County Community College through Tuesday, January 16 for a $5 late fee. Space is still available in many of TCCC's programs so you can take the next step towards your future.

The new machining technology degree develops skills in the theory and safe use of hand tools, power machinery, computerized equipment, and sophisticated precision inspection instruments. Students learn to interpret blueprints, set up manual and CNC machines, perform basic and advanced machining operations, and make decisions to ensure that work quality is maintained.

Those interested in Real Estate can take the courses needed to become a licensed real estate professional at a very reasonable cost. Classes are held on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings for the convenience of working students.

TCCC's Computer Information Technology program trains students in computer hardware, software, and networks with classes in operating systems, database, networking, security, and technical support.

Those who would like to work with children should consider the Early Childhood Education program, which offers a new Special Education concentration along with their Teacher Associate and Early Childhood degrees. The Special Education concentration prepares graduates to work with special needs children in a variety of settings.

The EMS program trains students to be paramedics and can serve as a stepping stone into many emergency services fields. Those who start their careers with a degree will have a leg-up to advance through the ranks to officer or supervisory positions.

Medical Assisting leads students to administrative and laboratory jobs in the medical field. Graduates work in doctors' offices, health departments, and hospitals. Other programs with spaces available include the HVAC program, Automotive Systems Technology, Welding and more.

TCCC provides great opportunities to the residents of Cherokee, Clay and Graham counties in technical fields, health sciences, business, computers, college transfer and more. TCCC offers affordable classes with excellent instruction and, for the sixth year in a row, was named one of North Carolina's superior-performing community colleges, one of only two to receive this honor.
