Murder-suicide leaves 2 dead in Graham Co.
By Lavina West

ROBBINSVILLE - In an apparent murder-suicide in the late hours of Sunday, January 7, two lives ended - those were Chris Garrison and Keith Hiett.

While the investigation is still ongoing, it appears that Chris Garrison went to the home of Keith Hiett on Dillard Orr Road, shot Keith, then went outside and shot himself.

Neither Chris Garrison and Keith Hiett were strangers to the court system. Current warrants against Chris Garrison, stated that he "willfully did assault and strike Keith Hiett by hitting Hiett on his face with his hand," and one stating Garrison "willfully did on more than one occasion was in the presence of another person, Keith Hiett, without legal purpose and the intent to: place that person in reasonable fear for the person's safety".

Another warrant was by Debra Pressley Garrison against her husband Chris Garrison where "the defendant violated a valid protective order issued by District Court Judge R. Holt in Graham County District Court, June 26, 2006 by the defendant contacting Debra Pressley Garrison by telephone and asking her to come back to him and to drop the domestic violence order."

Also, there were six warrants against Keith Hiett which read "there is probable cause to believe ,,,, that the defendant named above (Hiett) unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did commit and attempt to commit a lewd and lascivious act upon the body of a young girl who was under 16 at the time." There were two warrants with the same child as the victim, and four warrants with another child as the victim.

The investigation is ongoing.
