Sue C. Haigler Clay County native, longtime teacher

Sue C. Haigler, 105, of Hayesville died Friday (January 5, 2007) in a Clay County care center.

She was a native of Clay County where she had lived most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Green Henderson and Mary Dorcas Pass Haigler. She attended the Women1s College in Greensboro, NC and later graduated from Western Carolina Teacher's College. Sue had taught school in Clay County for 42 years before retiring in 1967. She was a member of the Hayesville First United Methodist Church where she had been a Sunday school teacher, organist, and pianist for many years.

She was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. Surviving are two nieces, Martha Neal Warth of Hayesville and Mary McPhee of Victoria, Canada; two nephews, Haigler Scroggs of Asheville and Robert K. Scroggs of Hayesville.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 9) in the Hayesville First United Methodist

Interment in the

church cemetery.

Osborn, John Paul Garrison, and Terrance Powell.

Tuesday morning at the

Hayesville First United Methodist Church prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in loving memory of Sue C. Haigler to the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 85, Hayesville, NC 28904.
