Imogene Hogsed Clay County native, homemaker

Imogene Hogsed, 86, of Hayesville died Monday (January 1, 2007) in a Buncombe County hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Clay County, she was the daughter of the late B.T. and Annie Kitchens Maney and the wife of the late Frank Hogsed, who died Jan. 23, 1997. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Mission Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Hogsed, who died Dec. 25, 1979. Surviving are a grandson, Tracy Hogsed of Hayesville; a great grandson, Preston Hogsed; a sister, Carrie Davenport of Hayesville; a daughter in-law, Elizabeth Tootsie Hogsed Burch of Hayesville; and a special friend, Dayton Moss.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 4, 2007) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Revs. Tommy Seay and Danny Moss officiating. Interment in the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Caroll Bill Maney, David Burch, Donald Davenport, Clark Moss, Jack Hooper, and Ricky Blaine.

The family received friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville. The family requests memorials be made in memory of Imogene Hogsed to the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Robert and Louise Scroggs, Hayesville, NC 28904.

Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville in charge of all arrangements.
