Robert Carlan
Gaston County native, Clay County most of life

Robert Carlan, age 49, of Hayesville, passed away Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Murphy Medical Center in Murphy. Mr. Carlan was a native of Gaston County, N.C. and had lived in Clay County, most of his life. He was the son of the late Guy Burns and Donna Mae Davenport Carlan. Robert was a self employed carpenter and enjoyed fishing. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jessica Carlan.

He is survived by seven brothers, Harold Martinez of Anderson, S.C., Kenneth James Maney of Dallas, N.C., Billy C. Hogsed of Mooresville, N.C, Donald L. Hogsed of Young Harris, Ga., Bobby Joe Maney, Leon Hogsed and Michael Carlan all of Hayesville; and one sister, Bonnie Strickland of Kennesaw, Ga..

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday,

March 8 at the Frank

Rose Sr. Memorial

Chapel in

Hayesville. Rev. Dewayne Chapell o f f i c i a t e d .

Interment was in

the Hillcrest

Assembly of God

Church Cemetery

in Hayesville.

Pallbearers were

Anthony Krupinski,

Travis Hogsed, Mike Hayes, Jackie DeHart, Greg Sena and Timothy Lamontag.

The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, March 7 at the Frank Rose Sr. Memorial Chapel in Hayesville.

In lieu of flower,s memorials may be made In Memory of Robert Carlan to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1193, Hayesville, NC, 28904.
