Girls score bigtime
The Hayesville High School Lady Jackets scored an unprecedented number of runs against Blue Ridge and Rosman last week: defeating the Blue Ridge team 30 to 0 and Rosman 11 to 2. In the run-away Blue Ridge game, all starting players scored, most of them multiple times. Carissa Dancer was Hayesville's winning pitcher holding the opponent scoreless. While the Lady Jackets had 11 hits in that game, they also took a base on balls 13 times. The Lady Jacket's contest with Rosman was also an uneven match. Hayesville went ahead in the first inning of that game by a score of 6 to 0 and never looked back. They also picked up three runs in the 4th inning.Ashlin Soltys crossed the plate three times in that game, while Erin Rogers, and S. Martin picked up a couple of runs. In an earlier away game with Swain, the Lady Jaqckets fell to the Lady Maroon Devils by a score of 6 to 2.

Hayesville's men's team defeated Rosman in a tight game last Friday. The Jackets were held to one run scored in the first inning, and didn't pick up another score until the 6th, when they picked up five runs. C.J. Crowder got three runs in that game including a double and a home run. Hayesville's Casey Bracken was the starting pitcher, followed by Ian McLamb and Corey Cox. Cox was credited with the win.
