Women's Development Conference at Hinton Rural Life Center This year marks One Dozen Who Care, Inc.'s eighth year hosting their Multi-cultural Women's Development Conference (MWDC), which will be held April 20 - 21. The conference will be held at the Hinton Rural Life Center, overlooking Lake Chatuge in Hayesville. The MWDC is an annual, two-day event focused on with programs that touch on many aspects of the personal and professional lives of women. This year's keynote speaker will be Tawana Williams, motivational speaker and author of the book, Unarmed But Dangerous. The back cover of her book describes the author in this way: "From the shadows of obscurity and the Multi-cultural annual conference will be held on April 20 - 21 at Hinton Rural Life Center in Hayesville women. The goals of the MWDC are to teach women self-reliance, build self-esteem, increase self-confidence and respect; to build relationships across culture and race and to help women reconnect with their own culture and heritage.
A variety of guest speakers will teach, entertain, encourage and motivate the participants anguish of disability, Tawana Williams was the victim of brutal medical negligence. Born without arms and with impaired use of her legs, her compelling life story unfolds her will to survive the anguish of physical defect and the shame of abuse and isolation."
