On Golden Pond opens Friday
Director Edie Kleinpeter has exciting cast assembled

Cody Riffle is hiding from his grandparents with a bag of Toll House cookies in the warm and funny play, On Golden Pond, which opens Friday at the Peacock Playhouse in Hayesville.
Ernest Thompson's On Golden Pond kicks off the 2007 theater season at the Peacock Playhouse in Hayesville.

This warm and funny play revolves around old curmudgeon, Norman Thayer, and his family. Norman is facing his 80th birthday and doesn't see the need to keep going until he gets a new lease on life from an unexpected place.

Director Edie Kleinpeter has assembled a strong cast. David Spivey plays Norman Thayer. Pamela Young, a newcomer to the Peacock Playhouse, plays Ethel Thayer, Norman's wife.

TooToo Cirlot plays estranged daughter, Chelsea, who arrives with her fiancé and his 13 year old son by a previous marriage. Michael Lindsey plays the fiancé and Cody Riffle is his son. Rounding out the cast is Micah Robinson, who plays Charlie, the mailman.

The play runs March 30 - 31 and April 1 and April 6 - 8. Evening performances start at 8 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2:30. Tickets are $13 for adults and $8 for students.
