The Carolina Cardinals 11U Travel Baseball Team took a 2nd place finish in the Catawba Meadows Hardball Shootout on March 24-25 in Morganton, NC. The Cardinals were originally the "Carolina Astros" this past fall season but changed their team name to start the 2007 Spring Season. The Cardinals are an 11 under AAteam consisting of players from Cherokee and Clay counties. The 2nd place finish ranks the team # 11 out of the 81 AA teams across North Carolina. The Cardinals are coached by David Thompson and he is assisted by Jason Rhinehardt and Leon Forrister.
