Hand-to-Hand from combat to healing Hand to Hand is the personal journey of the Reverend Nigel Mumford from Royal Marine Commando to full time minister of healing. Aveteran of three combat tours in Northern Ireland during the 1970s, Nigel relates his encounter with God in an alley in Belfast. It was his sister's paralyzing illness and recovery after prayer that galvanized him to become a channel of God's love and healing for others. He shares deeply personal vignettes of his journey and along the way shows others the loving face of God and how they too can receive healing in body, mind and spirit. He includes prayers and practical applications of how to pray for ourselves and others. Nigel writes in the introduction to his book: "Whatever denomination you are (or are not), the simple gift of healing is open to you. It is my hope that these words will bring you closer to your God, and to the peace that passes all understanding." At the time this book was written Nigel was a full-time lay healing minister, he has since been ordained in the Episcopal Church. He is the Director of the Healing Ministry at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center in Greenwich, New York and travels to speak at healing conferences, churches of various denominations and at universities including Yale.
His book and other writings on healing ministry are available at Phillips & Lloyd Book Shop. He is the featured speaker at the Healing Service at Church of the Good Shepherd in Hayesville on April 23 at 7 p.m.
