Bluegrass band "Just Us" to play at Brasstown Community Civic Center (Brasstown Community Civic Center) Once again, it's time for good music and good times at the Brasstown Community Civic Center. This year, the opening concert will feature "Just Us," a fairly new band out of east Tennessee. The band has over twenty years of musical background. Stacy Wilson has been playing in bands since the age of 12 with bands known as Stoney Point, Misty River and Hiwassee Ridge. Teresa Wilson (Stacy's wife) comes from a Southern Gospel background and has been in a family of bluegrass her whole life. She started playing bass in early 1997 and joined Stacy with Hiwassee Ridge shortly thereafter. Stacy and Teresa played with John and Cindy Studdard as a duo husband and wife team until 2006. Stacy and Teresa then joined Roscoe Morgan and Lonely Train until September 2006 and decided it was time to put together "Just Us." Albert Whiting (Mandolinist) has many years of experience playing with bands known as Blueline and Lost Horizon. Albert is a very clean and precise mandolin player and tries to perfect every note. Tony Brewer (guitarist) is a very young talent. Tony has been playing guitar for about five years and adds strong lead and rhythm to the band. Tony has also played with The Dry Valley Boys, Borderline and Abigail Moore and Highway 129. "Just Us" performs traditional, contemporary and gospel bluegrass music. Traditional music concerts are held on the second and fourth Saturdays of warm weather months in Brasstown, and feature local and regional musicians playing old time, gospel, and bluegrass, with a little country and some original tunes as well. Concert time is 7:00 p.m., with the box office opening at 6:30 p.m.
Ticket prices are $3.00 for adults, with children under twelve admitted free. Family entertainment at a reasonable price is the key to the success of these concerts. A snack bar on site provides hot dogs, drinks and snacks for a reasonable fee.
