Mountain Community Chorus Concerts
By ANN CHENAULT Sentinel Guest Writer

What make an old bird sing? Or a Young one? The same reason old folks and young folks sing?LOVE. Love of singing and love of music. It?s this love of singing that brings together so many people of such diverse backgrounds and ages?from 13 to 80?in the Mountain Community Chorus. Marolyn Hanson, oldest member of the Chorus, has been singing since a little girl, taught music in elementary schools in Florida and one year in London, England, singing there with the Royal Choral Society. Jesse Somerveil, youngest member, is a 7th grader from Hayesville who has performed in the North Carolina Honors Chorus. He will sing a solo in a Stephen Foster medley in the Spring Concert.

Outstanding director, Bill Fox of Young Harris, has directed the chorus for over 20 years. He pushes hard, but makes it fun and brings out the best in everyone.

Don't miss the two performances of the Spring Concert to be presented this weekend at their new location, the First United methodist Church of Hayesville. Friday, April 27, concert at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 29, at 3 p.m.
