CHURCH/NEAL J. CABE
 | | Neal J. Cabe, 88, of Hayesville died Wednesday (April 11, 2007) in a Clay County care facility. He was a native of Clay County, where he had lived most of his life. He was the son of the late Charlie and Iler Ashe Cabe. He graduated from Hayesville High School and attended Young Harris College. Neal worked in his early life for the Civilian Conservation Corp and then TVA. Later in life, he owned and operated Cabe1s Dairy for 38 years. He was a member of the Clay Masonic Lodge No. 301 and was also a member of the Truett Memorial First Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and usher. |

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Edith Wilson Cabe; two daughters, Sarah Poston and husband, Larry of Canton, NC and Betty McKinney and husband, Carroll of Hiawassee, GA; four grandchildren, Joel Poston, Brooke Beasley, Anisa Roberts, and Kembra McKinney; and six great grandchildren, Walker Beasley, Eli Roberts, Cabe Poston, Lila Roberts, Josie Poston, and Tate Roberts.

Funeral services were held 4:00 PM Friday (April 13) in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville
with the Revs. Patt Miller and Greg Carroll officiating. Interment in Ledford1s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Larry Poston, Carroll McKinney, Joel Poston, Jason Roberts, Bill O1Neil, and Bud Ashe. Honorary pallbearers: Hub Cheeks, David Bell, and David Cheeks. The family received friends from 2-3:45 Friday afternoon at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Neal J. Cabe to the Clay County Rescue Squad, c/o David Crisp, PO Box 325, Hayesville, NC 28904.
