ROSA LEE ROGERS

Rosa Lee Rogers Thomas, age 69, of Martins Creek Road, Murphy, NC died Monday, April 16, 2007 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. A native of Cherokee County, NC, she was a member of Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church and the Sunriser's Women's Club. Rosa loved animals, gardening and flowers. She retired after working 30 years at Clifton Precision. She was a daughter of the late Wayne Rogers, Sr. and Bessie Cornwell Rogers. Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, William Hoyt Thomas in 1999; a son, Clyde Randolph Thomas in 1982; two brothers, Wayne Rogers, Jr. and William Dewey Rogers; and one sister, Mary Ann Jones.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. "Patty" Thomas of Murphy, NC; three brothers, Carl Kenneth Rogers of Asheville, NC, Charles Allen Rogers of Hayesville, NC and Harold Willie Rogers of Murphy, NC; two sisters, Patsy Dockery of Murphy, NC and Betty Jean Cole of Blue Ridge, Georgia; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Faith Thomas.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 19, 2007 at the Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. The Rev. Aud Brown and Rev. Edward Carter will officiate. Interment was in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Murphy, NC. Pallbearers will be Bob Alderson, Wayne Harper, Lynn Cole, Michael Cole, Robert Laney and Tim Rogers.

The family received friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made In Memory of Rosa Lee Thomas to the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 481 Upper Peachtree Road, Murphy, NC 28906.
