Moss Memorial Library's new arrivals The series is the brainchild of Canongate Books' Jamie Byng who says "From the outset the idea was to approach top-class writers from all over the world and invite them to retell any myth in any way they chose. And in turn, their myths would be published all over the world. Already a wonderful array of writers have come on board, as have 24 publishers." The series began in 2005 and in 2038 will publish the 100th myth in the series. Moss Memorial Library has received the following in the series: "A Short History of Myth" by Karen Armstrong "The Penelopiad" by Margaret Atwood "The Helmet of Horror" by Victor Pelevin "Lion's Honey" by David Grossman "Dream Angus" by Alexander McCall Smith Also new at Moss Memorial Library are the following: Deborah Crombie's "Water Like a Stone" is a chilling psychological suspense in the tradition of Barbara Vine and P.D. James. With engagingly eccentric characters and the language, fashion and geography down pat, Crombie has an affinity for Dickensian history. Andrew Greeley's "Irish Linen" is a love story and a mystery. The writer portrays Chicago's middle class Irish Americans with flair, dignity and affection. Jesse Kellerman's "Trouble" is the story of a young, idealistic and overworked med student in NYC who stumbles across a murder in progress. He quickly learns that heroism isn't all it's cracked up to be! Carolyn Haines' "Fever Moon" explores the darker side of the South. Haines' literary thriller is set in New Iberia, LA, during WWII-a town caught up in the frenzy of a murder. WESTERN:
Elmer Kelton's "Texas Showdown" is two Texas novels. Kelton writes of West Texas with unerring authority.... real cowboys love his books!
