Preparing Hayesville for Memorial Day
Fifth-grader A.J. Bruce places a flag on the square on May 19 in commemoration of Armed Forces Day. Bruce and fellow members of the HMS Junior Civitans put up the flags as part of a service project. The flags can be seen lining the buildings of the Hayesville square, and were graciously furnished by the Allison-Bristol VFW Post 6812. In honor of Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, the flags will remain up until Labor Day.
