Take a Minute

I love Clay County and the people but I have almost been killed three times this week by people who pull out in front of me, thinking "Oh, I think I can make it."

How would your family feel if they knew you caused an accident which killed and injured someone or even killed yourself? It's not just young people, it is male, female and older people.

Could you not wait perhaps a few seconds to consider this possibility? We older people would like to see our children and grandchildren grow up - wouldn't you young people like to have a family one day instead of ending your life at a young age? Just "take a minute" to consider this….

Also, since when has it no longer been the law in NC to put your lights on during heavy rain? I counted 27 cars last week between Hayesville and Hiawassee with no lights on during a heavy rain storm. I have never seen one car pulled over for breaking this law. It was put in effect to help save lives but too many people up here ignore it because they know it is not completely enforced in this area.
