Fontana Village opens new disc golf course

Fontana Village Resort is proud to offer a new Disc Golf Course. We are the 63rd disc golf course in North Carolina and are excited about the potential it will have as another amenity to our guests and to bring new guests to our resort.

What is disc golf? To put it simply, it's like golf, with discs that resemble Frisbees (by the way the term Frisbee Golf) is slightly derogatory to disc golf players), but the holes are a lot bigger.

With 18 holes averaging a distance longer than a football field, our course is very long and challgnging. However,there is the option to shorten the course by playing the "short tees."

Disc Concepts built the 18 hole professional course. Equipment can be rented at Hazel Creek Outfitters for a $5.00 fee. Fontana Village will be having Disc Golf Tournaments in the near future; scorecards and maps of the course are available; In the future a golf cart path will be created throughout the course. In the meantime existing roads can be used.
