Jack Shields to lecture at Brasstown Valley Resort

On June 21 at 6 p.m. the Mountain Arts Association invites you to join internationally-known watercolor artist Jack Shields as he demonstrates a variety of techniques and sketches an original watercolor that will be presented at the lecture to the lucky door prize winner. He will also bring a number of his finished pieces.

Mr. Shields, originally from New Zealand, attended Indiana University and served on the faculty of Westminster Schools in Atlanta, retiring in 1995 as Director of Fine Arts to paint and teach workshops. He has given classes throughout the U.S. including Honolulu and his work hangs in hotels, businesses and homes throughout the world.

This workshop is sponsored by the Mountain Arts Association as part of its free community lecture series. We are grateful to Brasstown Valley Resort for providing the facility and refreshments for the lecture.

The Mountain Arts Association also provides ongoing children's workshops and scholarships to students in Towns, Union and Clay counties who are continuing their education in the arts. To make a tax-deductible donation to the Mountain Arts Association, call (706) 896- 9739, visit hiawasseefestivalofarts.org or write to P.O. Box 754 Hiawassee, GA 30546.
