Acrylic art by Thomas "Dooner" Driver Jr. to be featured at ODWC

One Dozen Who Care, Inc. (ODWC) will feature the Acrylic Paintings of Thomas "Dooner" Driver, Jr. Friday, June 22, at the ODWC office, 65 Wilson Street, Suite 7, Andrews, from 4-7 p.m. The mission of ODWC is to strengthen leadership among women and youth and to build strong community bonds through common cultural situations.

"Dooner" was born and raised in Cherokee, NC. He and his wife, Louise, live in Robbinsville.

"I believe painting is the language of our soul. One painting can capture your heart and elevate your emotions. One stroke can sweep you off to your own personal paradise. Painting is and always has been an important part of native culture.

"As traditional art blends with more contemporary art, one element remains forever embedded in Native American Design and Acrylic paintings; the love and respect for all life. These are paintings and prints of the heart. I hope you understand my thoughts, my dreams and my expressions," Dooner said.

All are invited to come by the ODWC office on Friday, June 22 from 4 - 7 p.m. to meet Dooner and to view his Native American paintings.
