The children were excited about having their pictures in the paper. As I've said before, make memories with your grandchildren while you can. It's the best gift you can give them.

I started taking my oldest grandson when he was 16. He is now 25, and he says I "got him hooked" on traveling. He just returned from Asia, where he had spent a month walking the Great Wall of China, attending a Japanese wedding of a friend, and saw the "Forbidden City." He loved Cambodia with its many unspoiled ruins. He has also spent time in Costa Rica with a group from Georgia Tech University (his alma mater).

Because of his height (he is six feet and four inches tall) most people in Asia would lookat him, thinking he was a giant.

I hope that Jena and Alex, who are 16 and 14 respectively, will also love to travel as much as he does. Nicholas, the oldest, has traveled with me to 14 countries, while Jena has been to eight and Alex has been to theee. It is my desire to take Shelley, who is only ten, to europe in the near future. Because of my age (I am almost eighty), I will have to do so very soon.

I have traveled the world as far as Russia, and have loved every moment of it. I have never met a person I didn't like, or a country that was not interesting. There is so much to learn about our world's history, and as a retired teacher, this has been my dream all of my life. Besides, taking your children on trips around the world is such a wonderful lesson that they will never be able to get from a book.
