Ivan Stiles to visit JCFS July 4
John C. Campbell Folk School concert will be free, open to public

Champion autoharp player and singer Ivan Stiles will be the featured in a special concert from 7 to 8 p.m. July 4 at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. The concert will be held in the Community Room and will be free and open to the public. Donations are gratefully accepted.

Stiles is an awardwinning autoharpist, recording artist, instructor, author and former editor of Autoharp Quarterly magazine. He won the 1991 International Autoharp Championship at Winfield, KS and has been a six-time finalist in that event. His first recording, "Rounding Pickering Bend," and first book, "Jigs and Reels for the Autoharp," were introduced in 1986. Since then he has appeared on numerous recordings including the monumental 3 CD set "Autoharp Legacy" featuring top players from around the world.. He also sings, entertains and plays mountain dulcimer, bowed psaltery and musical saw.

Upcoming concert performers at the Folk School include New England Contra Dance Musicians (July 13) and Irons in the Fire (July 20).
