Free WRAP classes

Free weekly WRAP classes are being offered every

Tuesday from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. in Clay County at the Hayesville office of Murphy Counseling (the old Smoky Mountain Center). Wellness Recovery Action Planning, i.e. WRAP, is a 10-week course that teaches you an approach for managing mental health and/or substance abuse symptoms that are interfering with your life.

WRAP can provide you with HOPE that you can recover and reach for your goals! Certified facilitators are employees of Meridian Behavioral Health Services and have reached a place in their own recovery to offer hope, education and support to others. Classes are free and you can begin at any time. Come join us as we explore proven ways to regain our wellness.

There is HOPE for a better life! For more information, call the Marble Center, 837-7466, ext. 2311, and talk to one of our facilitators about this wonderful program.

Talent Night at the Square

"The Singing Stars For a Better World," a precious group of children ages 5-10 years old, will warm everyone's heart with their classic Broadway hits and positive messages about life! They are a treat, and not to be missed!

Last year's Towns Co. Idol winners and favorites, Heather Poole, Palmer Dernehl and Danny Patterson, will perform solo numbers to showcase their wonderful voices.

Rounding out the evening are Sheila Reed and the Reed Family, featuring young talent in the best country and gospel venue. So bring your lawn chair or blanket, your family and friends, and even the family pet is welcome (if accompanied on a leash and with a "pooperscooper" for clean-up!) There will be ice cream, hot dogs and beverages for sale, along with Concert-on-the Square t-shirts. Call (706) 896-4988 after 2 p.m. to see if weather threatens to cancel the show.

Ooops.......please note corrections to posters and rack cards: the July 14 concert (mistakenly ommitted!) will be Tony Ford and also the Gnarly Fingers Band.

Ken was gracious enough to step in, when OTM learned that Tony Ford had other committments and would have to be out of town on Saturday evening.

Also performing is the Gnarly Fingers Band (formerly the Bell Mountain Boys). Their acoustic harmonies and humor pleased a large and appreciative audience last Season. Led by Tom Edwards, the group consists of Pat List, Keith Layton, Joe Stephens and Tom. A fun evening you shouldn't miss!
