Festival draws thousands to town square for fun

The weekend was filled with excitement and fun thanks to the annual Festival on the Square. For 28 years local merchants have been setting up booths of crafts while enjoying entertainment provided by local musical artists and dancers.

Money made from food sales at the event goes to benefit three county organizations: the historical arts museum, the boy scouts and the rescue squad.

A record 75 vendors participated this year in addition to eight different performing groups.

The event was a success overall, confirmingthe continuing prosperity of Clay County.
