Ten sign to run for town office

The filing period for three alderman seats and the officeof mayor ended at noon on Friday, July 20.

Aldermen up for reelection include Bob Scott, Verlin Curtis and Charles Roper, all of whom are running for another term. Mayor Joe Collins is running unopposed.

According to the board of elections, other candidates who filed to run for alderman include W.H. Derrick, Joyce Handley, Denton Higdon, Larry Hollifield,David Rowland, William L. Trapani and Jim Williamson.
