Rally for a Cure is August 7

HAYESVILLE - The Chatuge Shores Ladies Golf Association supports Rally for a Cure® presented by Golf for Women magazine, a breast cancer awareness campaign that is the nation's largest grassroots women's golf program. More than 1.2 million people have participated in Rally for a Cure® events since its inception in 1996. This is the second year that the Chatuge Ladies club has pledged its support and teed off against breast cancer.

More than 50 players will participate in the Rally at Chatuge Shores on Tuesday, August seventh. As part of the Rally for a Cure® activities, a closest-to-thepin contest will be held at the 16th hole. Titleist® golf balls bearing the pink ribbon breast cancer awareness symbol will be awarded to every player who hits the green on the first swing and an Adams golf club given to the player whose shot lands nearest to the hole. All players received important early detection information, an exclusive Rally pink ribbon golf pin, and are entitled to a one - year subscription of Golf for Women.

Emphasis on the importance of early detection in the successful treatment of breast cancer is the mission of Rally for a Cure®, and to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. Breast cancer is the leading cause of death for women ages 35-54, and the disease also accounts for more than 75% if all cancer deaths in women 55 years of age and older.
