Bruce Weeks Family Band
To perform in Brasstown on Saturday, August 25

This week another fine family group brings their musical skills to Brasstown, when the Bruce Weeks Family Band hits the stage at the Brasstown Community Civic Center at 7:00 PM, Saturday, August 25.

Their website calls them a "Professional Old Time Bluegrass Gospel/Cajun Style group from Woodstock, GA" and they have played for bluegrass festivals, church homecomings, tent revivals, and a variety of private functions from corporate shindigs to family reunions. Bruce Weeks is a Pentecostal Preacher who also plays guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, organ/piano, native American flutes, Cajun accordion, and the Irish tin whistle. His wife Lois plays upright bass and sings. Their oldest daughter, Tristan, plays mandolin and sings lead. Their daughter Katie plays fiddle. Bruce's cousin, Mike Meador, plays five-string banjo, and rounding out the group is Noah Hobgood on harmonica. From their base in Georgia, to Louisiana, to Virginia and Kentucky, and parts in between, the Bruce Weeks Family Band have performed all over the southeast, sharing God's love, and a love for music, wherever they go.

Traditional music concerts are held at the Brasstown Community Civic Center on the second and fourth Saturdays of warm weather months. Concert time is 7:00 PM, with the box office opening at 6:30 PM. For the admission price of $4 per adult, with children 12 and under free, patrons can hear two sessions of about 45 minutes each, with a break in between. Hot dogs, snacks, and desserts are available for purchase at a nominal cost. These concerts attempt to provide quality entertainment at a reasonable price for families, and also to provide a venue for the musicians to keep our musical heritage alive. Everyone is invited to enjoy this fine family band at the Brasstown Community Civic Center on Settawig Road in beautiful Brasstown, North Carolina!
