Speak up for a child

Right now there are children in our community in the custody of the Department of Social Services. Children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect.

They each need a caring adult to look out for their best interests while their case goes through the court system.

Someone to advocate for necessary services and promote the child's placement in a safe and permanent home as soon as possible.

Could you step in and represent such a child as a Guardian ad Litem? A new Guardian ad Litem training class will begin on September 13th, at 10 a.m. at Hayesville United Community Bank's Community Room.

Become a "Child's Voice in Court." You can make a difference in the life of a child.

Please call the Guardian ad Litem officeat (828) 837- 8003 for details or e-mail Carol.A.McAfee@nccourts. org.
