Congratulations and thank you to all the participants in our 17th annual Mountain Golf tournament this past weekend. 142 golfers competed in our event and were treated to two great days of golf, excellent food, as well as several door prizes donated by local businesses. A special thank you to the course staff at Chatuge Shores Golf Course for their hard work clearing the storm damage on Friday night so that we could tee off on time Saturday morning.

Winners were: Championship Flight: 1st-Rick and MG Curtis, 2nd-Jeremy Rylee and Michael Young, 3rd- Justin Ashe and Parker Lewis. First Flight: 1st- Jay Eagleman and Scott Massey, 2nd-Maynard Brown and Matt Rogers, 3rd-Richard Rhyne and Keith Rhyne. Second Flight: 1st-Dee Walsh and Brian Wilson, 2nd-Randy Marshall and Ricky Marshall, 3rd-Chris Berry and David Totherow. Third Flight: 1st- JR Hammack and JD Rushing, 2nd-Wes Hooper and Joe Wilson, 3rd-Mark Allen and Rod Szuba, and Fourth Flight: 1st- Paul Genrty and Flipo Lattimer, 2nd-Charlie Hudson and Jeff Tyrell, 3rd-Chris Fryar and Brad Cox.

Our Clay County Chamber of Commerce Apple Pie Business of the Month for August is SunflowerAntiques and Interiors in Hiawassee. Stop in and say hi to P.J., Febe, and Amanda and see their wonderful collection of furniture, antiques, linens, and gifts.
