William Clay Hall
William Clay Hall, age 79, of Murphy, NC passed away Thursday, August 16, 2007 at the Murphy Medical Center in Murphy, NC.

Mr. Hall was a native of Clay County, NC and was the son of the late Avery and Maggie Matheson Hall. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Hall worked for several years in insurance sales and as a retail clerk for A & P Grocery. He was a member of the American Legion and attended the Murphy Church of God. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Hall Volluz; and a son-in-law, Dale G. Soik.

Mr. Hall is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Mary Curtis Hall; two sons, Ken Hall and his wife of Sheri of Lexington, Kentucky and Bill Hall and his wife Karen of Murphy, NC; three daughters, Linda Hinton and her husband David of Murphy, NC, Margaret Soik of Murphy, NC, and Ginger Anderson and her husband Rev. Lyndon Anderson of Hayesville, NC; seven grandchildren, Terry Graham of Gulfport, MS, Bradley Hall and Katie Hall-Nolan of Lexington, KY, Misty Wilkey of Wilmington, NC and Melinda Callihan, Melissa Killian and Kerri Dettweiler all of Murphy, NC; twelve great-grandchildren; four sisters, Frances Stout and Mary Swain both of Murphy, NC and Louise Canup and Willa Mae Long both of Hayesville, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Murphy Church of God. The Rev. Patrick Garrett will officiate. Music will be provided by Cody Killian and Tammy and Bill Walker. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Murphy with Military graveside rites conducted by Veterans Organizations: Murphy V. F. W. Post #10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post # 96 and D. A. V. Chapter # 73 and Clay County V. F. W. Post # 6812. Pallbearers will be Levi Killian, Cody Killian, Logan Callihan, Barrett Callihan, Bradley Hall and Terry Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be George Dockery and Michael Dettweiler.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Murphy Church of God.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be In Memory of William Clay Hall to the Murphy Church of God Youth Fund, P.O. Box 1545, Murphy, NC 28906.
