Junior golfers swing away at their opening tournament
NC. United Community Bank of Hayesville sponsored the first event of the season. Marla Mashburn from the bank was on hand greeting the golfers before they headed to the course. Brett Beazley, General Manager of the Ridges Resort and Vice President of the Tri-County Junior Golf Association, stated, "The Ridges Golf Resort is honored to be hosting the junior tour's first tournament this year and to have United Community Bank as Tri-County Junior Golf Association's kick off sponsor. Having so many young people involved in golf and competing each week brings new enthusiasm to the game and has a very positive impact on our community. We also appreciate the help of the Young Harris College golf team." The YHC golfers helping were Kyle Leblanc, Jacob Lord, Caleb Kelley, Stanley Roberts, Dustin Chapman, Clifton Burton, Kyle Ketelse, Jason Hollifield,Sarah Johns, Garrett Parker, Kristin Thomas, Ashley Panter, Brittany Samson, and Heather Dusch. The weather cooperated with the event by raining everywhere but on the course. Great golf was played by the Tri- County Junior Golf Association players.
