Clarence L. "Doc" Little

Clarence L. "Doc" Little, age 81, of Murphy, NC passed away September 1, 2007 at his residence.

Mr. Little was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC; he was the son of the late Clifford Virgil and Essie Price Little. Clarence was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Clarence worked for E.C. Moore for ten years in the auto body shop and retired from Western Southern Life in 1983 as an Insurance Agent. After retiring "Doc" worked for Tri-State Lighting for 15 years. He was a member and a Deacon at Macedonia Baptist Church, member of the Montgomery Freemason Lodge # 426 AF & AM and Eastern Star, Martha # 246. He was an avid baseball fan, enjoyed playing the mandolin, loved gardening and loved the Lord.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Winnie Ruth Norris and also infant sister, Geniveve and one grandson, Ryan Little.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Delois Jannie Grant Little; two sons and their wives, Bruce Ford Little and Debi and Harrison Virgil Little and Jan all of Murphy, NC; two daughters and their husbands, Sherrill Joy Milhe and William P. of Brasstown, NC and Dianna Jeanne Kilpatrick and Steve of Beech Island, SC; one brother and his wife, Gauvin John Little and Winnie of Murphy, NC; two sisters, Amaryllis Burns of Blairsville, GA and Callie Lou Williams and her husband John of Gulf Port, MS; one sister-in-law and her husband, Bobbie Duncan and Bobby of Travelers Rest, SC; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, two step-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Murphy, NC with Rev. Ronald Patterson officiating. Music will be provided by Wendell Hester. Burial will be in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Military graveside rites conducted by Veterans Organizations: Murphy V. F. W. Post #10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post # 96 and D. A. V. Chapter # 73 and Clay County V. F. W. Post # 6812 and Montgomery Lodge #426 AF & AM. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Montgomery Lodge # 426 AF & AM.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, September 3, 2007 at the Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made In Memory of Clarence "Doc" Luther Little to Christian Love Ministries, 1064 US Hwy 64 East, Murphy, NC 28906.
