McCitgo coming to Hayesville
DEBBIE WALKER Sentinel Writer

Photos by Brenda Kay Ledford Left: Shirley Whitener and Debbie Dills hope to see you at their new store.
For many years the Citgo By Pass has stood on the corner of Highway 64 and Highway 69 assisting shoppers with their morning coffee, gas fill-ups and general snacks. But more than serving the public in their needs, the Store was a meeting place for friends and strangers passing through Hayesville to talk, gossip and just say Howdy.

Axtex closed Tuesday, September 25th to get ready for the new building which will house the New Aztex Fuel & Food Center with the adjacent building becoming a new Mc- Donald's. Each will be a separate business with a foyer for customers to walk through to either place of business, with connecting Restrooms.

The Aztex will be closed for approximately 3 months for

the new businesses to be constructed. In the meantime Debbie

Dills, Manager and Shirley Whitener will miss everyone here in Hayesville and it was with sadness of seeing the old place come down that Debbie spoke of her time in this store. But she and Shirley aren't going too far away. Debbie will be in the Fires Creek Aztex on Highway 64 and Shirley in the Andrews Store. They both would appreciate if everyone would come and see them there. They will miss all their loyal customers the next couple of months and hope that all will go well with the new construction. So go and see them
