Earnest G. Shelton

Earnest G. Shelton, age 70 of Dacula, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Shands University Hospital in Gainesville, FL. Mr. Shelton was born Saturday, March 13, 1937 in Hayesville, NC to the late David Grant Shelton and the late Minnie Kitchens Shelton. He was a member of the Lilburn First Baptist Church. Mr. Shelton served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Ford Motor Company after 42 years. He was a loving grandfather, father and husband.

Survivors include:his loving wife of 48 years, Joann Berrong Shelton of Dacula, GA, son and daughter-inlaw, Stanley and Liz Shelton of Buford, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Ron LaFevers of Buford, GA, brothers, Jack Shelton of Chattanooga, TN, and Bill Shelton, brother, James Shelton and William Shelton, all of Hayesville, NC, granddaughter, Kendall Shelton of Buford, GA, grandson, Chris LaFevers of Buford, GA and granddaughter, Courtney LaFevers of Buford, GA.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Ledford officiating. A Eulogy will be provided by Mr. Ron LaFevers. Music will be provided by Lisa Morrow. Interment will follow in Upper Hightower Baptist Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Michael Bradley, Tommy Dills, Michael Shelton, Mark Shelton, David Shelton and Tony Berrong. Chris LaFevers will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4, Saturday, September 15.
