Jewell Penland
Jewell was born Friday, April 22, 1929 in Clay County, NC to the late William Edward Penland and the late Eliza Garrett Penland. He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by brother, J.D. Penland, sisters, Nannie Bue Penland, Mary Bee Penland and Helen Penland. Survivors include: sister, Lucretia Shook of Cumming, Ga, sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Bill Mountain of Mc- Donough, GA, 2 nieces and 9 nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, October 1, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. from the Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Shook and Rev. Charlie Bowen officiating. Music was provided by Claude Hunter Family and Melba Blythe. Interment was in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Dennis Penland, Gene Penland, David Penland, Dale Penland, Dwight Penland and Kelsey Nicholson.
