Vierce L. Rowland

Vierce L. Rowland, age 97 of Hayesville, NC passed away Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, NC.

Mr. Rowland was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, NC; he was the son of the late Steve and Zada Reynolds Rowland. Vierce was a farmer and had worked with Shewbird Farms. He enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. He loved his family and attended Church of God.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dol- lie L. Gibson Rowland who died in 1996; a daughter, Ethel Mull; two infant sons; six sisters; and one brother.

He is survived by his son, Stephen Rowland and his wife Joyce of Hayesville, NC; four daughters, Freddie Cothren of Cathlamet, WA, Christine Fisher of Canton, OH, Ellen Ledford of Asheville, NC and Mildred Rogers and her husband Michael of Hiawassee, GA; two sisters, Elveta Stamey of Hayesville, NC and Wilma Stroia of Canton, OH; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Townson Rose, Frank Rose Sr. Memorial Chapel in Hayesville, NC. The Rev. Lloyd Ledford and Rev. Leonard Mayfieldwill officiate. Music will be provided by Rev. Chris Rumfelt. Burial will be in the Union Hill Cemetery in Hayesville, NC. Pallbearers will be Jeff Rowland, Mikey Rogers, Josh Shook, Michael Ledford, Marvin Mull and Nathan Mull. Honorary pallbearers will be Garland Mull and Michael Rogers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Frank Rose Sr. Memorial Chapel in Hayesville, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made In Memory of Vierce Lincoln Rowland to the First Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 1232, Hayesville, NC 28904.
