      Due to lake of rain, a burning ban is in effect for Clay County according to Fire Marshall Ricky Lancaster. Although a state-wide burning ban has been issued by the State of North Carolina, Lancaster said the NC Fire Service ban does not include areas within 100 feet of a structure.
