Events that are undertaken by CCCRA always seems to bring smiles to the faces of the community. With names like "Lies and Pies Jamboree" , The ever Famous Chili Cook-Off, "Car-B Que", and the Annual Pet Parade, there is always something afoot with CCCRA. In collaboration with Handmade in America, Clay County has been able to attract new businesses as well as beautification. The newest project coming to life is the Nelson Heritage Village project. The "Pioneer Village" created by Garnet and Kathleen Nelson will once again come to life, depicting life back to the turn of the 20th Century and before the TVA. This is a joint effort of the CCCRA, the Clay County Historical and Arts Council, and the Nelson family. There will also be visitors coming to Clay County in March. A team of students and teachers namely called a Design Charrette, from the N.C School of Design will be coming to Hayesville to give us insight on how to better our community with design plans. Keep in mind that these students and teachers will need our guidance and hospitality while they are here. If you would like to be a host or do a host of other things while they are here contact Margie Weathers at 389-0638.
