Songtellers concert on November 9

The Songtellers will perform at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, N.C. at 7:30 pm on Friday, November 9 following a public exhibition of Folk School student crafts from 6:40 - 7:00 p.m.

The Songtellers are Rosy DeVane and Steve Sloan from Young Harris.GA. They sing folk, old time, Celtic and gospel songs accompanied by guitar, mountain dulcimer, tenor banjo, mandolin and pennywhistle. In addition to performing, the Songtellers are actively involved in using music to promote healing. Devane is a Certified Music Practitioner at the Blairsville Cancer Treatment. Sloan is founder of Man to Man Prostate Cancer Support Group serving a five county area. They also use music in their work with Regency Hospice.

The Songtellers will be accompanied by Rachel Caviness on bass. Upcoming Folk School concerts include The Blue Ridge Rounders (Nov. 30) and The Brasstown Ringers (Dec. 7).
