Thanksgiving Dance

The annual Thanksgiving Dance will be held by the Tri State Dancers on Friday, November 16 at 7:30 pm at the Clay County Senior Center in Hayesville, North Carolina. As usual, Dave Bartens will be there to provide great music for your dancing pleasure. Dave has played for many dances throughout the South, and we are pleased to present him here to bring you Big Band songs, Latin tunes, Country music and songs from the 30;s, 40,s 50,s 60,s and more .

Refreshments including soft drinks are provided, a chance to win several door prizes for the lucky ticket holders, and plenty of free lighted parking all for the $5.00 donation received at the door.

Come and enjoy an evening of good food, good dancing, and great companionship, and don't forget to make your reservation for the big New Year's Dance, held this year at the Center.

High Mountain Squares

High Mountain Squares will dance this Wednesday night, November 14, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Macon County Community Building on Georgia Road (441S). COMING UP National Memory Screening Day

Concerned about memory loss? Tuesday, November 13th is National Memory Screening Day. Clay County Senior Center will offer free, confidential screenings from 10 am to 2 pm. appointments are recommended. Call 389-9271. Find out if you're ok or if you might be facing Alzheimer's Disease or another illness. Proper treatment and support can make a difference. AARP Driver Safety Program

On Wednesday and Thursday, November 14th and 15th from 1-5 pm at the Clay County Senior Center on 196 Ritter Rd., Hayesville there will be an 8 hour classroom refresher course especially designed for drivers ages 50 and over. Moss Memorial Library

Serendipity Accessories Party: Friends of Moss Memorial Library fundraiser; fashion purses, totes, duffles and accessories on November 15th at 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Annual Open House: on December 19th at 10 a.m.; bring our favorite appetizer, dessert or snack and join us as we welcome in the holiday season! and don't forget to bring your recipe. Entertainment by the Blue Ridge Dulcimer Players will be there between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.

3rd Annual Cookie Swap in Stecoah Valley

On Saturday, December 1st, Stecoah Valley Center will host their 3rd Annual Cookie Swap and Party starting at 10:00am. The cookie party will provide participants with a commercial kitchen to prepare their recipes while making enough cookies to share with six others so that everyone will go home with between six and seven dozen cookies.

If you would like to participate in this year's event, please call 828-479-3364 to reserve your space. Due to limited space, the class size limit is seven. The cost is $20.00 per person and includes the following: Use of kitchen equipment, cookie sheets, mixer, convection oven, mixing bowls, etc. The fee also covers some basic cookie ingredients including, all purpose flour, white sugar, brown sugar, powdered sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and vanilla. Participants will be responsible for bringing any other ingredients their recipe requires such as nuts, fruits, butter shortening, etc.

MOAA Christmas Party

Please to be ready to make your reservation for the MOAA CHRISTMAS PARTY to be held 10 December 2007 at the Old Hiawassee Grill (formerly Fieldstone). The cost will be $31 per attendee, including tax and tip, a cash bar will be available. The restaurant requires a significant deposit by mid November so members are requested to pay at the November meeting if possible.

Breakfast With Santa

Stecoah Valley Center invites kids of all ages to have Breakfast With Santa. Santa will be making two stops at the Center on Saturday, December 15th and Saturday, December 22nd, both at 9:30am. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, juice and milk. The cost is $3 per person and pictures with Santa are also available for $5 each. Make your reservations early as seating is limited due to Santa's busy schedule. New Year's Eve Dance

Maze your reservations now for the New Year's Eve dance being held at the Hayesville Senior Center.
