James Anthony "Tony" Ledford

James Anthony "Tony" Ledford, age 49, of Black Mountain, NC and formerly of Hayesville, NC passed away Thursday, November 15, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C.

Tony was a native of Cherokee County, N.C. and lived most of his life in Hayesville until moving to   Black Mountain in 1998. Tony was a son of the late Willard and Mattie Lee Kitchens Ledford. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Aaron Alonzo Ledford and infant Eugene Ledford. Tony was a very sweet and loving person; he enjoyed listening to gospel music.

Tony is survived by three brothers, Lowell Ledford and wife, Helen of Hayesville, Monroe Ledford and wife, Evelyn, of Hiawassee, Ga., Cranval Ledford and wife, Janice, of Marion, N.C., and four sisters, Evelyn Crews and husband, Sherwin of Carrollton, Ga., Mary Jo Martin and husband, Horace of Hayesville, Gwen Penland of Blairsville, Ga. and Dwayne Evans and husband, Max of Hayesville, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m.., Sunday, November 18 at the Frank Rose Sr. Memorial Chapel in Hayesville. Rev. Chris Rumfelt and Rev. Harold Ledford will officiate. Interment will be in the Union Hill Cemetery. Nephews Stewart Crews, Ronnie Ledford, Jeff Ledford, Derrick Ledford, Barron Martin and Mark Carter will serve as pallbearers. Steven Evans, Shawn Ledford and Dusty Ledford will be Honorary Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 18 at the Frank Rose Sr. Memorial Chapel in Hayesville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made In Memory of Tony Ledford to the Black Mountain Center, 932 Old US 70, Black Mountain, NC. 28711.
