Medford Green

Medford Leon Green, age 70, of Brasstown, NC passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Murphy Medical Center in Murphy, NC.

Mr. Green was a native of Towns County, GA but had lived most of his life in Clay County, NC. He was a son of the late Willie Blin and Amanda Fleming Green. He was a self employed Timber Cutter and was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and also was a regular fan at Tri-County Raceway. He could often be found "sittin'on the bench" at Clay's Corner. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Arms.

Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Gladys Lance Green; two sons, Leon Green and wife Debbie of Murphy, NC and Richard Green of Brasstown, NC; two daughters, Sarah Suddereth of Brassqtown, NC and Mary Henderson and husband Darrell also of Brasstown, NC; one brother, Bob Green of Blairsville, GA and one sister Jenell Barnett and husband Clarence of Peachtree; one grandson, Greg Suddereth

Linda of Brasstown, NC; six granddaughters: Jennifer Green of Greenville, NC, Alicia Green of Conway, Arkansas, Vanessa and Haley Henderson of Brasstown, NC, Stacy Green of Murphy, NC and Crystal

Green of Hayesville, NC and one great granddaughter, Ann Alyse Green and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. Visitation will conclude at 8:00 P.M. with prayer by Rev. Aud Brown .

Interment will be at Hickory Stand Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made In Memory of Medford L. Green to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1151, Murphy, NC 28906.
